Project involved provision of Technical engineering service to undertake the Detailed Engineering Design for the upgrading of the sewage treatment plant and disposal of treated effluent and stormwater serving the Satellite Estate of Chevron Nigeria Ltd. | | Description of actual services provided by your staff |
|---|
The scope of work included preparation of detailed engineering design, procurement specifications and construction specifications. Complete detailed design to upgrade the existing sewage treatment plant and make it capable of discharging properly treated and disinfected effluent, and re-designing of the Sewage Treatment Plant to achieve 30 mg/l TSS, 30 mg/l BODs and residual chlorine between 0.8 and 2.0 mg/l in the final disinfected effluent. Detailed design of the disposal system for sewage and stormwater from the Estate aimed at eliminating the impact of the off-site discharges on neighbouring properties was carried out including design of adequate offsite infrastructure for disposal of collected surface water runoff with Estate boundaries. Soil investigations to establish site's geotechnical conditions including preparation of construction documents consisting of drawings and specifications. An Analysis of the Surface Water Drainage System and Development of solutions to eliminate the current impact on Chevron's offsite discharge on the neighbouring properties was also carried out, as well as evaluation of the operation of the Sewage Treatment Plant and Development of solutions to return it to its efficient operation system. The project also included the development of a treatment process which allowed the discharge of a properly treated and disinfected effluent into the surface water disposal system and development of a cost estimate for the recommended system improvement as well as an evaluation of the electrical system of Chevron Nigeria's Satellite Estate to determine the ability of the system to carry additional load as a result of the implementation of the drainage project. |
